CASTING NOTICE: Show Us Your Style at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival

    Hey tumblr!

I’m casting stylish, real women in their 20s and 30s for street fashion videos that I’ll be shooting at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, January 19 - 27th.  We’re looking for girls with individual style from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.  If you’re already planning to be at the festival and would like to be considered, please send a short bio, a photo or two and the dates you’ll be in Park City to sffcasting@gmail.com.

Very Small Array: Nobody ever gave a damn about sisters

Edward Burns on the $9000 - !!! - budget for his latest film, NEWLYWEDS, which he is releasing on VOD and iTunes a month before the film’s small, regional theatrical run.  Love this DIY approach, and how he’s using Twitter to include his fans and audience in the filmmaking process.

    This is the future, people.

I’ve always said I’m strictly a behind-the-camera type, but this was super duper fun. Happy Holidays from the dancing fools at The ‘Dance!

Recommending: APPROPRIATE ADULT starring Dominic West (THE WIRE) and Emily Watson (WAR HORSE). Saturday night @ 10p on Sundance Channel. It’s garnered great (albeit somewhat spoiler-y) reviews from The New York Times and IndieWire.

Rattle that sabre, Josh. This is going to get interesting.

I seriously love Adweek’s design for article titles, subtitles and bylines. Every time I see it, I think, “yes.” (Also, “I want to steal that.”)

It’s the nature of folklore to be altered to suit every different folk who wants to make use of it. Why should today be any different?

Bill Willingham, author of FABLES, putting to rest the suggestion that the ABC series ONCE UPON A TIME is a rip-off of his work. A level-headed response to stirred-up controversy is refreshing, don’t you think?

“This is the first time that Twitter has been used as a television distribution platform.”

Look at us being all 1st Timey!  Proud to have had a hand in this.

I think the only time it’s too late to become a filmmaker is when your dead. If you’re giving up for such a wimpy reason - before you even get started - then you will never be a filmmaker, because one of the indisputable prerequisites is tenacity.
