The Films I Want to See at Sundance

I’m going to Sundance again in January, and for the first time in 6 years, I’ve actually read through the entire slate of feature-length films before arriving in Park City and made a list of the films I’d like to see, which I then anal-retentively sorted into three categories: Dying to See, Really Want to See, and Would be Happy to See. Here’s the list, which besides the group-sort is presented in no particular order (see, I’m not that anal):

    1. Bottle Shock
    2. U2 3D
    3. What Just Happened?
    4. Towelhead
    5. Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?
    6. A Complete History of My Sexual Failures
    7. Stranded
    8. Sunshine Cleaning
    9. In Prison My Whole Life
    10. Smart People
    11. American Teen
    12. Gonzo: the Life and Work of Hunter S. Thompson
    13. IOUSA
    14. CSNY Deja Vu
    15. Made in America
    16. Blind Date
    17. Be Kind Rewind
    18. The Deal
    19. Diminished Capacity
    20. The Great Buck Howard
    21. Henry Poole is Here
    22. Incendiary
    23. A Raisin in the Sun
    24. Sleepwalking
    25. The Black List
    26. Kicking It
    27. Birds of America
    28. The Broken
    29. An American Soldier
    30. Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired
    31. Secrecy
    32. Traces of the Trade
    33. Anywhere, USA
    34. Choke
    35. Downloading Nancy
    36. The Last Word
    37. The Mysteries of Pittsburgh
    38. Phoebe in Wonderland
    39. Pretty Bird
    40. Sugar
    41. Man on Wire
    42. Triage: Dr. James Orbinski’s Humanitarian Dilemma
    43. The Women of Brukman
    44. Absurdistan
    45. Mermaid
    46. Riprendimi
    47. The Wave

Forty-seven films in 5 days. Ambitious? Impossible, especially since I’m only there for the second half of the festival and many of these films may have already screened. But it’s a direction to go in.
