“When watching a network devoted to your entire gender becomes a dirty secret, I’d say something’s probably wrong, no?”
Rach, insightful tumblr and WE critic, commenting on this Slate article.
Maybe the trick for these networks, mine included, is to figure out how to take programming from dirty secret to guilty pleasure? On the other hand, maybe Rach just isn’t in these networks’ demo. At 24, she’s more in MTV’s sweet spot than Lifetime’s. But it begs the question, if these three lady nets aren’t programming for young women, who is?
