I was selected as one of 10 finalists in a video contest by Sigur Ros. My video is now featured on Youtube’s homepage.
I found this out retroactively when I checked my mail this morning. I had over 60 messages, requests and comments. I thought I had been spammed. Turns out, it was the complete opposite.
Watch Blake’s clip in HD on Vimeo and you’ll immediately understand why Sigur Ros made it a finalist. I was struck by Blake’s simple description: “Brooklyn and Iceland are strikingly similar in many ways.” Only a true artist could, as commenter Charles Walker noted, “find & show the beauty in what most people see as banal city views.” Took the words right from my mouth, Charles. Congratulations, Blake!
