To be honest, I hadn’t thought of it that way. I interpreted the original post to mean “The recession didn’t really register that much until I found out that Ken Burns lost his funding”, which in light of other news seemed to be relatively frivolous. What is not frivolous, however, are the concerns about your job/livelihood that you articulated, so consider me re-educated.
I suppose certain fans of Ken Burns could have meant it that way. It’s just one more signpost on a very dark road. And that story about the tent cities in Sacramento is a billboard. I hadn’t seen that, so thank you for linking.
